THAT'S ME.

ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF:

JOHANNA AHRENS, BORN IN 1982, HAVING WORKED
AS A PHYSIOTHERAPIST FOR OVER 15 YEARS.

In my own practice in Wienhausen near Celle (close to Hannover), I will show you successful methods to counter pain.

I was born and grew up on the German Baltic coast. Curiously enough, this was not the place where I discovered my great passion, windsurfing, this happened in distant Cairo. Together with my family, I lived in the Land of the Pharaohs for six years. There I got to know different cultures and people – which excited me. However, windsurfing was not the only thing I discovered and brought back to Germany from Egypt. I had also developed the wish to choose a profession that has to do with people and combine my interest in sports and medicine.

That is why I chose physiotherapy. During my schooldays, I already passed various internships in this field. In 2004, I took my state exam as officially recognised physiotherapist at the Lubinus Clinicum in Kiel. Due to a fortunate coincidence, I ended up in Freiburg im Breisgau and in Walter Packi’s clinic two years later.

Classic physiotherapy did not offer me the desired insights and hoped for therapeutic success, and it did not answer the open questions of “what is pain and what are successful, sustained methods to counter it”. The medicine developed by Walter Packi respectively the therapy based on biokinematic criteria was able to do this – and I had the chance to have first-hand experience of how effective it is. Not treating symptoms, but searching for the reason for pains, not striving for more strength, but regaining mobility, the possibilities to heal a person without an operation – it still excites me today.

I have been able to show methods against pains to more than 5,000 grateful patients and help them regain more mobility, and thus more quality of life – and their number is increasing by the day. In my own practice in Wienhausen near Celle, I can now pass on what Walter Packi has taught me over many years.

Yours sincerely

Johanna Ahrens
